MIGHTY MOO E-COMMERCE PROTOTYPE + USER TESTING AND EVALUATIONS
For this project I created e-commerce website for a fictitious company and then performed user testing to improve upon the design with qualitative and quantitate research. I created Mighty Moo Ice Cream, an ice cream company that sells online and in-stores. Below is the step-by-step process, from design brief > logo and brand guideline creation > wireframe > prototypes > user testing > evaluation and recommendations > to final prototype. All prototypes were created in Axure.
Step 1 - Branding
This guide was created as an essential tool for anyone responsible for working with the Mighty Moo brand. It sets the expectations for the experiences and provides guidance on how Mighty Moo Ice Cream should be presented to the world at large.
Guidelines were created for the color palette, typography, logos, logo usage and misuse and imagery for the MIghty Moo brand.
The typeface was chosen for its clean and traditional look.
Colors and themes were inspired by bright, refreshing and healthy ice cream colors and real life situations from an organic farm to a customers home. They should convey that the all natural ingredients that are sourced from local farmers and the pleasure of customers enjoying the final product.
Step 2 - Wireframes
Wireframes were created for the homepage, a product list page, product detail page, shopping cart, cart information page, cart payment page and order confirmation page.
Step 3 - First Prototype
The first Prototype was created from the Wireframes, with color and imagery based off the brand guidelines.
Step 4 - User Testing + Evaluation
In-person user testing was performed using the prototype, with a survey given to users directly after interacting with the prototype.
Based off user feedback recommendations were created to improve on the final prototype of the site.
Step 5 - Final Prototype
After user testing and interviews, evaluations were made from the results with recommendations on how to best improve the final prototype for Mighty Moo.
It was clear from the data that the majority of the recommendations for site improvement surrounded the product detail page and the users perceived security at checkout.
Recommendations from the evaluation of the user testing was incorporated into the final prototype
Step 6 - Final UX Report
The final report details each step in succession. Along with a detailed breakdown of the modifications that were made to the final prototype based off user testing results.
